Ellen B. Austin

Ellen B. Austin, age 94, passed away Friday, November 16, 2012 at Savannah Court Assisted Living Facility in Bartow. Born October 26, 1918 in Parrish , FL, Mrs. Austin was a longtime resident of Bartow. She was a secretary for the Polk County area Schools for 43 years, serving for many years at Mulberry High School. She was a member of the Bartow Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church & the United Daughters of the Confederacy . She is preceded in death by her husband: Andrew F. Austin & brother: Charles R. Beatty. Mrs. Austin is survived by three sons: Gene W. Austin & wife Jeannie; Jerry Austin & wife Bernie, all of Bartow ; Patrick Austin & wife Lynn of Lakeland; daughter: Judy Elliotte & husband Ray of Bartow; niece: Donna Gallup of Alexander, VA; 9 grandchildren & 15 great grandchjildren. Family will receive friends Sunday, November 18, 2012, 4-6 PM at Whidden-McLean Funeral Home, 650 E. Main St, Bartow. Graveside interment services will be held Monday, November 19, 2012 at 9:30 AM at Bartow Wildwood Cemetery. Funeral services will follow at 10:00 AM at the Bartow Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church, 205 E. Stanford St., Bartow.
