Ella Virginia Coffee Stevens, aged 92, passed away at home on May 7, 2016 and entered into the Church Triumphant. She was born January 20, 1924 in Stiversville, Tennessee, to the late Marvin Young and Emma Lillian (Duncan) Coffey. Mrs. Stevens moved to Bartow, Florida in 1949 with her husband, Verbon Stanley “Steve” Stevens, who preceded her in death in 1979. She is also preceded in death by her brother, William Franklin “Bill” Coffey; and sisters, Dannie, Mary Lurline and Christine Coffee. She is survived by her daughters Linda Sue (Bruce) Munroe of Bartow and Maribeth (Tim) Biron of Calhoun, Louisiana; sister, Marguere Parker of Bartow; brother, L. M. Coffey of Columbia, Tennessee; three grandchildren, Justin Stevens Biron, David Brian Munroe and Joseph George Biron. Mrs. Stevens was a homemaker for most of her children’s school age years. Later she worked for State Farm Insurance in Bartow. She was an active member of First Presbyterian Church, Bartow for 66 years. She lived a life of serving others and touched many people with her loving spirit. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 10, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Whidden-McLean Funeral Home, 650 E. Main Street, Bartow. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 11, 10:00 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church, 355 S. Florida Ave., Bartow. Interment will follow in Wildwood Cemetery. Memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church, Bartow.
