Elizabeth Cayton Grant

Elizabeth Cayton Grant passed away on Oct. 8, 2008 from cancer at the Consulate Health Care in Lakeland. Born in Lawrence, Kansas on Oct. 18, 1936 she moved to Bartow from Missouri in 1978. Elizabeth was a registerd nurse and worked at the Polk General Hospital with 19 years of service. She was a member of the St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Bartow; the Florida Nursing Association and the Native American Land Medical Society.She is survived by her husband Harvey Grant of Bartow; 4 sons Vince Cowart of Bartow; Don Cowart of Winders, GA; Bryan Cowart (Beth) of Bartow and Darrell Cowart (Julie) of Mulberry. 2 daughters Oneta Cowart of Warner Robbins, GA and Tina Stickney of Bartow. 3 brothers John Cayton (Katie) of Osborne, MO; Paul Cayton of Maysville, MO and James Cayton of Kansas City, MO. 4 sisters  Carolyn Loellin (Carl) of Humbolt, NE; Ester Cayton of Humbolt, NE; Naomi Cayton and Martha Lowery of Ft. Meade. 21 grandchildren and many great grandchildren. Family will receive friends Friday Oct. 10, 2008 from 6pm to 8pm at the Whidden McLean Funeral Home Chapel and services will be held at the St Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Bartow Saturday Oct. 11, 2008 at 10am.
