Elizabeth M. "Beth" Anderson, age 91, of Bartow, died Saturday, May 31, 2008, at Savannah Court in Bartow. Born April 10, 1917 in Detroit, MI., Mrs. Anderson has been a resident of Bartow 1 1/2 years, moving from Naples. Mrs. Anderson was Catholic and a retired High School Home Economics and English teacher, and most recently employed as a bookeeper by Star Tool & Dye in Detroit, MI.. She was a member of the Phi Mu Sorority; Pan Hellenic; a Life Master Bridge Player; and a gifted pianist. She traveled extensively; internationally with Archives of American Art Organization, and throughout the US with Elderhostel. She was preceded in death by her husband Richard Anderson and daughter Janet MacCracken. She is survived by six daughters: Jackie Ewing of Bartow; Judy Baldwin of Williamsburg, Mich; Joan Bankard of Farmington Hills, Mich; Joyce Cottle of Ferndale, Mich; Jane Anderson-Weigel of Asheville, N.C.; Jill Anderson of St Thomas, USVI.; sister: Mary Jane Glaza of Mesa, Az.; 18 grandchildren & 21 great grandchildren.
