Eli Martinez-Figueroa

Eli Martinez-Figueroa, age 81 passed away on Wednesday, December 1, 2021 in Lakeland. Born in Guayanilla, Puerto Rico on April 28, 1940, he was the son of the late Concepcion Figueroa and Providencia Martinez. He was a a veteran of the U.S. Army. Mr. Martinez-Figueroa retired from General Electric Medical Systems in Puerto Rico where he was a General Manager for many years. Eli is survived by a loving family that includes his wife of 58 years, Teresa Gonzalez of Mulberry, his children: Eli Martinez, Jr. of Plant City, Edgar Martinez (Daisy) of Lakeland, Enid Martinez of Mulberry, his siblings: Edwin Lopez (Carmen) of Lakeland, Alicinia Lopez of Puerto Rico, and Irene Velazquez also of Puerto Rico. He also leaves behind his grandchildren: Eli III. Matinez, Jennifer Marie Martinez, Crystal Eli Martinez, Edgar Eli Ortiz, Annette Martinez, Janienid Aviles and seven great grandchildren. The family will receive friends on Sunday, December 5th from 4pm to 6pm at Whidden-McLean Funeral Home in Bartow. Funeral services will follow at 2:00pm on Monday, December 6th at the funeral home chapel.
