Eleanor Sweet

Lakeland - Eleanor J. Sweet, 83, of Lakeland, died Wednesday, March 7, 2007, at Carpenters Home Manor in Lakeland of cancer. A native of Schenectady, NY, Mrs Sweet was a resident of Bartow over 50 years, before moving to Lakeland. She was a registered nurse with Bartow Regional Medical Center for over 49 years. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Bartow. She served in the Army Nurse Corps. during World War II. She was a member of the Bartow Hospital Auxiliary. She enjoyed gardening, reading, knitting and animal charties. She is survived by her husband: Hardy E. Sweet of Lakeland; son: Richard G. Sweet of Houston, Texas; daughter: Polly Brady of Cabot, Ark. & 3 grandchildren.. Family will receive friends Monday, March 12, 6-8 PM at Whidden-McLean Funeral Home, 650 E. Main St, Bartow. Graveside services will be held Tuesday at 11:00 AM. at Bartow Wildwood Cemetery.
