Elaine E. Hess

Elaine E. Hess, 89, passed away Tuesday, August 14, 2018 at her residence in Bartow. Born April 16, 1929 in Norwich, CT, Mrs. Hess was a resident of Bartow since 1986, moving from Columbia, CT. She was a very active member of Florial Lakes and former member of the Board of Directors and served with Guardian Ad Litem for several years. She was preceded in death by her first husband; Charles Hirst; a brother Ernest Bullard and a sister Clarissa Basley. Mrs. Hess is survived by her husband: Wallace "Butch" Hess, a sister: Cynthia Scott, a niece: Clarissa Cleveland (Randy), all of Bartow; two nephews: Leonard Basley (Cathy) of Moosup, CT and Raymond Basley (Deanna) of Moosup, CT; a niece: Mae Dees (Jamie) of Ocean Springs MS. Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 16, 2018, at 2:00 PM at Whidden-McLean Funeral Home, Bartow. Interment will be at Bartow Wildwood Cemetery.
