Mr. Edward Wiley B. Wilson, age 83, of Fort Meade, died Sunday, July 1, 2007 of respiratory failure, at Lakeland Regional Medical Center. Mr. Wilson was born Sept. 26, 1923 in Fort Meade where he and Wanda raised their 6 children. He served as an ammunition bearer in the United States Army where he earned 2 purple hearts and numerous medals. He retired after 38 years from Estech Swift Mine where he was a maintenance operator. He is survived by his wife Mrs. Wanda Grace Crider Wilson; Four Daughters, Sherry J. Janes of Lakeland, FL; Fran B. Courtoy of Albany, GA; Debra L. Freeling of Russellville, AR; Cynthia L. Gustafson of Dallas, TX Two Sons, David E. Wilson of Wauchula, FL; Tim D. Wilson of Ft. Worth, TX Seventeen grandchildren Eleven great-grandchildren Arrangements are being handled by McLean Funeral Home, 306 East Broadway, Fort Meade, FL, where the family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Thursday, July 5, 2007. Funeral service will be at Mount Pisgah Baptist Church at 11:00 AM Friday, July 6, 2007 , Rev. Bill Ivey and Rev. Harold Armstrong officiating.
