Edward "Walt" Heidel, Sr.

Edward "Walt" Heidel, Sr., age 96, passed away Monday, January 2, 2023, Born January 26, 1926, in Tampa, he was the son of the late Oscar Carl and Delores (Clarke) Heidel. Mr. Heidel was a WWII veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving in the Pacific Theater . He worked as an Electrical Engineer in the Phosphate Industry for 42 years. Along with his parents he is preceded in death by his wife, Geraldine Heidel and his grandson, Andrew Alderman. He is survived by a loving family that includes his children: Janet Susan Bergdoll (David) of Lakeland, Ed. W. Heidel, Jr. (Bobbie) of Hixson, TN, Kathy Alderman (Patrick) of Lakeland, his grandchildren: Edward Heidel, III, Kathy Heidel Schultz, Amanda Bergdoll and his great grandchildren: Aaron Schultz and Jessica Schultz. The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 14th from 1:30pm to 2:30pm at Whidden-McLean Funeral Home in Bartow. Funeral services will follow at 2:30pm at the funeral home.
