Edward Long

Winter Haven - Edward Long, age 79, passed away Saturday, January 20, 2024, at home surrounded by his family. Eddie was born on May 23, 1944, in Fort Payne, AL. He was a Truck Driver for the Florida Dept. of Transportation. He loved being outside and spent most of his days working in the yard and feeding the squirrels and birds. Eddie was preceded in death by his parents, Williard and Mary Long, his sister, Helen Carroll, and his brothers, Burliss Larry Long & Larry Ray Long. He is survived by a loving family that includes his wife, Eloise Long of Winter Haven, sisters Norma Cooper of Lake Wales, Mary Jo Coleman of Menlo, GA, Jewell Wise of Lake Wales & Connie Long of Bartow, numerous nieces & nephews, sister-in-law Patricia Stone (Brian) of Beaufort, SC, sister-in-law Karen Butler (Troy) of Ocala and brother-in-law Rick Peters (Sherry) of Winter Haven. Family will receive friends Friday, January 26, 2024, from 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM at Whidden-McLean Funeral Home, Bartow. Funeral service will be held Friday, January 26, 2024, at 3:00 PM at Whidden-McLean Funeral Home. Interment will be held at Wildwood Cemetery, Bartow. Family and friends are invited for food and fellowship following the graveside service at the family home, 116 Lichtenwalter Rd in Winter Haven.
