Edgar Lee Whittington

Edgar Lee Whittington, 72, of Bartow passed away from cancer at his residence in Bartow. Born Thursday, April 30, 1942 in Eagle Lake, FL he was a lifelong resident of Polk County. He worked as a Maintenance Mechanic for CF Industry with 20 years of service and also worked in the Citrus Industry graphting trees. Edgar was a Vietnam Army Veteran. He enjoyed fishing and was an avid Florida Gator Fan. He is survived by two daughters, Angela & husband Virgil and Tiffany & husband Tim, Five brothers; Floyd, Leroy, William, Donald and Tommy. Five sisters Alice, Margie, Judy, Peggy and Patsy. Seven grandchildren; Kassie, Zachary, Krista, Coury, Sapphire, Timothy and Declan. Two great grandchildren Jaxon and Luthias. The family will receive friends Tuesday, July 22nd from 9:00 AM - 10:00 AM at Whidden-McLean Funeral Home, Bartow and Funeral services will begin at 10:00 AM at Whidden-McLean Funeral Home. Interment will be held at Gandy Cemetery, Connersville.
