Eddie F. Simmons

Mr. Eddie F. Simmons, age 88, passed away Tuesday, July 19, 2011. Born April 22, 1923 in Kenansville, FL, Mr. Simmons was the son of the late Carl and Pearl Simmons. Mr. Simmons was an U.S. Army Veteran of WWII. He had worked for Johnny Sessa Bulldozing in the Fort Lauderdale area as a Dragline Operator. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Lake Garfield. Mr. Simmons is preceded in death by his first wife, Doris N. Simmons. He is survived by his wife Ruby Creech Simmons of Bartow, a daughter Anne Pace (Ross) of Hendersonville, NC, two sons; Carl L. "Buddy" Simmons (Chris) of Lakeland, Douglas Simmons of Oakland Park, five grandchildren, and several great grandchildren. Arrangements are being handled by Whidden-McLean Funeral Home in Bartow where the family will receive friends Friday, July 22nd from 9am to 10am. Funeral services will follow at 10:00am at the funeral home chapel. Interment will be at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens Central in Fort Lauderdale.
