Dwight Kenneth Brower, 92, passed away on Tuesday, August 26, 2025. He was born on October 8, 1932, in Versailles, Indiana, to Avery and Estelle Brower. Dwight proudly served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. After his service, he graduated from Florida Southern College and felt a calling to ministry. He went on to earn a master’s degree from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and dedicated his life to serving as a Southern Baptist minister. In addition to his ministry, Dwight served as a public school teacher in Polk County, Florida, and on the Navajo Nation in Window Rock, Arizona. He was a devoted member and Sunday school teacher at First Baptist Church of Bartow. Dwight was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Charles Brower and Avery Brower Jr.; and his sister, Ruth Brower Walsh. He is survived by his loving wife, Virginia Lyle Brower of Bartow; daughter Deborah Brower Bedford and husband Robert of Bartow; son Stephen John Brower and wife Robann of Sandy, Utah; daughter Mary “Christina” Weide and husband Tim of Chewelah, Washington; daughter Michal Ann Brower of Bartow; sister Lena Joyce Hardy and husband Joe of Window Rock, Arizona; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends on Saturday, August 30, 2025, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Whidden-McLean Funeral Home in Bartow, Florida.
