Dovie K. Courson

Dovie K. Courson, 92, of Bartow passed away on Friday, August 12, 2011 at her residence from natural causes. Born in Lake Wales, Florida, she was a lifelong resident of the area. She worked as a cashier for WT Grant's department Store in Bartow and was member of the Lake Garfield Baptist Church. Dovie enjoyed gardening, working in her yard and crossword puzzles. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rhomie Courson; two daughters, June Powell and Patricia Mooney; son Richard Massey, and grandson, Keith Powell. Dovie is survived by her daughter, Gail Powell of Bartow; sons Wayne Courson of Frostproof and Robby Massey of St. Petersburg; two sisters, Pauline Partin of Osteen, FL and Betty Seay of Bartow; sixteen grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends Thursday, August 18th from 9-10 am at Whidden-McLean Funeral Home in Bartow with services starting at 10 am. Burial will follow at Gandy cemetery in Connersville.
