Dorris Johns Bissett, 99
Dorris Johns Bissett was born in New Haven, Indiana on January 10, 1914 and passed on October 24, 2013 of heart failure.
She was the wife of the late Arthur M. Bissett, a lifelong agriculturist of Polk County. Dorris was an avid craft and sewing enthusiast, who was a charter member of the Friendship Circle Sewing Club, and participated in many charitable projects. She was a co-founder, and was an active member in the former Covenant Presbyterian Church of Winter Haven.
Dorris is also preceded in death by her grandson Joey Knapek. She is survived by sons Glenn Bissett ( Marjorie) of Quitman, GA., Raymond Bissett of Sarasota, daughter JoAnn Knapek (Robert) of Winter Haven, 4 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren, along with her niece Loretta Malony of Orlando.
Public Visitation will be held Sunday at Whidden-McLean Funeral Home, 650 E. Main St. in Bartow from 2-3 p.m. on October 27th, 2013. Funeral services will follow at 3 p.m. at the funeral home chapel. Burial services will follow at Lakeside Cemetery located on Hwy 17 North in Winter Haven, FL.
