Valrico - Dorothy E. Whitener, age 83, passed away Monday, April 15, 2024. She was born June 30, 1940 in Laredo, FL to Jesse & Eliza Waldron. Dorothy was a Homemaker and a member of the Church of God. She was preceded in death by her son Gregory Whitener. Dorothy is survived by her husband Ed Whitener of Valrico, FL, daughter Mia Dorton of Valrico, FL, son Todd Whitener of Tampa, FL, two sister Wilma Coulter of Fort Meade, FL and Patricia Cooper & husband Buddy of Fort Meade, FL, three grandchildren Zach Dorton & wife Chi, Hope Dorton, Eliza Dorton and great granddaughter Elizabeth Dorton. Family will receive friends Sunday, April 21, 2024 from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm at Cornerstone Church of God, 10 S Seminole Ave in Fort Meade, FL. Funeral service will follow at 3:00 pm Sunday, April 21, 2024 at Cornerstone Church of God . Burial will be held at Evergreen Cemetery in Fort Meade, FL.
