Dorothy Wade Williams Webber, age 91, passed away peacefully on April 3, 2025, in Winter Haven, Florida. Born on September 20, 1933, in Fort Meade, Florida, Dorothy, aka Mama Dot or Dottie, lived a long and vibrant life rooted in love for her family and friends. Dorothy was the beloved daughter of Lester and Inez Wade. She was preceded in death by her parents; her two husbands, Carl D. Williams and Al Webber; and two of her siblings, Louise Moore (Robert) and Lester Wade, Jr. (Dee). Her legacy continues through the lives of those she held dear. She is lovingly remembered by her two daughters, Mari Lynn Williams Burkett (Ernest) and Pam Williams Thornell (Ron); her sisters Mary Wade Smith (Vernon) and Pat Wade Wickersheim (Jerry); four grandchildren, Angel Allen (Jason), Matt Thornell (Stacey), Kyle Burkett (Brandi), and Wade Burkett (Jasmine); as well as nine great-grandchildren, Adam, Jack, Jacob, Jake, Jennings, Jett (Baylee), Meritt, Morgan and Nolan, who brought her immense joy. A spirited traveler, Dorothy journeyed across nearly every corner of the United States, leaving only four states unseen. Yet no matter how far she wandered, family remained her truest joy. Her home in Lakeland was a haven of hospitality where friends and family were always welcomed with open arms. Whether arranging flowers, preparing meals or baking her famous cakes for loved ones, she poured care into every detail. Known for being generous, caring, and deeply devoted to those around her, Dorothy was not only a wonderful mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and friend—she was also a beacon of kindness whose presence enriched the lives of many. Family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 8, 2025, from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at McLean Funeral Home located at 306 E Broadway in Fort Meade, Florida. A Celebration of Life will follow at 11:30 AM at McLean Funeral Home. The burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Fort Meade, FL.
