Dorothy P. Walker

Mrs. Dorothy P. Walker, age 89, of Winter Haven, died Friday, May 1, 2009 at a family residence in Bartow. Born March 10, 1920 in Milton Delaware, Mrs Walker has been a resident of the area 18 yrs, moving from Delaware. She was a songwriter and musician. She was a member of Spring Lake Church in Winter Haven. Mrs. Walker is preceded in death by her son, Charles A. Phiefer. She is survived by her four daughters: Nora Reed of Olivebridge, NY, Mary Anderson of Lakeland, Evelyn Pippin of Eden, MD, Patricia Gardner of Bartow, and two sons: Joseph Phiefer of Soddy Daisy, TN; Richard "Ricky" Phiefer of Salisbury, MD. She also leaves behind 20 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren & 8 great great grandchildren. Family will receive friends Tuesday, May 5, 2009, 2-3 pm at Whidden-McLean Funeral Home, Bartow. Funeral service will follow at 3:00 PM at the funeral home. Interment will be at Wildwood Cemetery in Bartow.
