Dorothy L. Burgess

Dorothy L. "Dottie" Burgess, age 82, passed away Tuesday, January 11, 2022 in Lakeland. Born January 2, 1940 in Point Pleasant, WV, she was the daughter of the late Harold and Mildred (Harmon) Garrett. Mrs. Burgess was a Protestant and a Homemaker. She is survived by a loving family that includes her husband of 64 years, Ronald Burgess of Lakeland, her children: Mike Burgess (Sharla) of Lakeland, Diana Turner of Lakeland, Rhonda Grazulis (John) of Bartow, Brenda Guice (Chris) of Bartow and Lea Smith of Lakeland. She also leaves behind her grandchildren: Shane (Debbie), Christopher (Jaimi), John (Ivy), Krista, Brent II, (Tonya), Ashley (Jon), Alex (Katelyn), Emily and her great grandchildren: Andie, Cooper, Hunter, Maci, Jaxon, Kennedy, Teri, Owen, Kingston. Reagan, Rachel, and Lauren. The family will receive friends on Monday, January 17th from 10am to 11am at Whidden-McLean Funeral Home in Bartow. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 11:00am at the funeral home.
