Dorothy G. Hendrix

Dorothy G. Hendrix, age 74, passed away February 18, 2012 in Tampa. Mrs. Hendrix was born on February 16, 1938 in Bartow, and was the daughter of the late Floyd Duke and Grace Hebb Duke. She worked as a Registered Nurse in new born nurseries of Winter Haven Hospital, Regency Medical Center and Polk General Hospital of Bartow. She was a longtime member of the North Jackson Avenue Church of Christ. She is survived by her children; Wayne E. Hendrix (Sharon), John Hendrix (Linda), Wanda Hendrix Powell, Jerry A. Hendrix (Alane) all of Bartow, her mother, Grace Hebb Duke of Bartow, sister, Toni Grayson of Bartow, She also leaves behind nine grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. Arrangements are being handled by Whidden-McLean Funeral Home 650 East Main Street in Bartow where the family will receive friends Thursday, February 23rd from 6PM to 8PM. Funeral services will follow Friday, February 24th at 11:00AM at the funeral home chapel. Memorial contributions may be made toe the North Jacskson Avenue Church of Christ, 450 N.
