Mrs. Dorothy E. "Dot" Harley, age 86, passed away from heart failure, Thursday, April 9, 2009 in Bartow. Born December 27, 1922 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, she was the daughter of the late Joe and Helen Ellis. Mrs. Harley was a longtime area resident. She had a deep love of music and was an accomplished organist and pianist. She had played for the First United Methodist Church and the Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church of Bartow. Mrs. Harley was a elementary school teacher and a homemaker. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her infant son and her grandson Matthew Huntsman. She is survived by a loving family that includes her husband of 63 years, Richard "Dick" Harley, son Howard Harley of Bartow, three daughters; Lynda Jackson (Henry) of Winter Haven, Marianne Greer (Clayton) of Lake Oswego, OR, and Lorraine Huntsman (Robert) of Independence, KY. She also leaves behind ten grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Arrangements are being handled by Whidden-McLean Funeral Home 650 East Main Street in Bartow where family will receive friends Monday, April 13th from 6 to 8pm. Services for Mrs Harley will be held Tuesday, April 14th at 11:00 am at the Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church, 205 E. Stanford Street, in Bartow.
