Dorothy R. "Dot" Birge

Dorothy R. "Dot" Birge, age 82, passed away Thursday, July 21, 2016 at her residence in Bartow. Born April 26, 1934 in Babson Park, FL, Mrs. Birge was a lifelong resident of Bartow. She was a Bookkeeper for many years. She was a member and past president of the Bartow Crickett Club. She was very active in the Salvation Army, the United Way, 4-H Clubs and the Girl Scouts of America for many years. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Patsy B. Thagard. She was survived by her husband of 67 years, James E. Birge, Bartow; a son, Tim Birge, Eagle Lake; three daughters: Peggy Thagard, Polly Scott and Pam Parrish, all of Bartow. 11 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. The family is hosting a drop by for a celebration of life Sunday, July 24, 2016, from 6:00 - 8:00 P.M. at the family residence, 160 W. Hooker Street, Bartow.
