Dorothy Albritton

Dorothy "Dot" Albritton, age 76, a lifelong resident of Fort Meade, FL. died Tuesday, February 20, 2007 at Lakeland Regional Medical Center of Heart Failure. She was born on April 1, 1930 in Hialeah, FL. Ms. Albritton was employed by the Polk County School Board for 21 years. She worked in the cafeteria, serving lunch to children at Lewis Anna Woodbury Elementary, Fort Meade Middle/Senior High School, but most of her career was spent at Riverside Elementary in Fort Meade. Ms. Albritton was a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church in Bartow. She is preceded in death by her husband, Philip Albritton, and her son, Harvey Albritton. Ms. Albritton is survived by her daughter, Phyllis V. Ellis of Fort Meade, FL.; sister, Rose Mary & Harrell Whitehurst of Lancaster, OH.; Four Grandchildren, Robert Ellis, Philip "Howie" Albritton, and Heather Pierce of Fort Meade, FL., Crystal Albritton of Bartow, FL.; Six Great Grandchildren and Nieces & Nephews. Family will receive friends Thursday, Feb. 22 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at McLean Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be on Friday, Feb. 23 at 11:00 AM at the McLean Funeral Home, 306 E. Broadway, Fort Meade, FL. Interment will follow at Watson Cemetery in Fort Meade.
