Dorothea E. "Dee" Dickinson

Dorothea E. "Dee" Dickinson, age 84, passed away on Monday, April 11, 2022, at her home in Lakeland. Born May 23, 1937, in Doddridge County, WV, she was the daughter of the late Howard and Lena (Smith) Swiger. Mrs. Dickinson worked as a Bank Officer at Peoples Bank in Lakeland for 13 years. She also worked as a School Teacher at Floral Avenue Elementary and James E. Stephens Elementary Schools in Bartow for 12 years. Dee was a member of Liberty Worship Church of God in Winter Haven. It was there that she served as Secretary, Treasurer and also was a member of the Praise Team. Along with her parents, Mrs. Dickinson is preceded in death by her husband, Wilbur Dickinson. She is survived by a loving family that includes her children: Marvin L. Dickinson and wife Donna of Winter Haven, Karen Music and Bishop Ken Music of Winter Haven, Sharyn Prine of Lakeland, her grandchildren: April Bennett and husband Joe, Amber Music, Kristopher Dickinson and wife Megan and Isaiah Prine. She also leaves behind her great grandchildren: Lacey, Gracie, Lane, Layla, Jeremiah, Albany, Chevy and Wrenley. The family will receive friends on Friday, April 15th from 10am to 11am at Liberty Worship Church of God, 3607 Rifle Range Road, Winter Haven, FL 33880. Funeral services will follow at 11:00am at the church. Interment with committal services will follow at 2:00pm at Winter Garden Cemetery in Winter Garden, where she will be laid to rest next to her husband, Wilbur Dickinson.
