Dora B. Anderson

Dora B. Anderson, age 81, passed away Saturday, July1, 2017 in Winter Haven. Born July 7, 1935 in Elba, AL, she was the daughter of the late Lois Allen and Daisy Frances (Divine) Allen. Dora was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church of Lake Garfield and retired from the Polk County School Board where she worked as a Custodian at Alturas Elementary School for many years. Dora is also preceded in death by her first husband, Martin L. Dickey, her second husband, Thomas O. Anderson, her two sons: Bobby Ray Dickey, James L. Dickey, and her sister Cleo McCall. She is survived by her daughter Marie Webster (Woody) of Bartow, her grandchildren: Melissa Harper and Elizabeth Engler. She also leaves behind her two great grandchildren: Kylie and Xander Harper. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 5th from 10am to 11am at Whidden-McLean Funeral Home in Bartow. Funeral services will follow at 11:00am at the funeral home chapel.
