Donna Kent

Bartow-Donna Kent, age 71, peacefully passed away October 28, 2022 at her home in Bartow, where she lived with her beloved husband David Kent for 30 years. She was born on October 3, 1951 in Brooklyn, NY. She attended Stony Brook University, where she earned a Masters Degree. She became a certified social worker and practiced psychotherapy at Peace River Center for more than 20 years. She enjoyed traveling, especially to gatherings with family near and far and on annual trips with her Jesuit Volunteer Corps friends “The Bucketheads”. Her cats were a constant source of joy and amusement. Her kindness, warmth, and loving heart brought so much to all those who were lucky enough to know her. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her sisters Debra (John) Stasiewicz of Nesconset, NY, Lisa (Ken) Kendall of Fort Myers, FL, Dina (Glenn) Fitchett of East Islip, NY, sister-in-law Joyce Kingham of Bartow, FL, many nieces and nephews, extended family members and close friends. Family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 1, 2022 from 1:00 - 3:00 PM at Whidden-McLean Funeral Home, Bartow, to be followed by funeral services at 3:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Salvation Army or Good Shepherd Hospice.
