Donald O. Thompson, Jr.

Donald O. Thompson, Jr., age 85, passed away Monday, January 16, 2023. He was born November 9, 1937 in Frostproof, FL to Donald & Frances Thompson, Sr. Don retired from the United States Navy where he specialized in radio operations. He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Zolfo Springs. He was preceded in death by his first wife Joan Thompson, sister Frankie Cross and grandson Rance Thompson, Jr. Don is survived by his wife Mary Thompson of Fort Meade, daughter Jama Abbott of Bowling Green, sons Daniel Smith of Wauchula, FL and Rance Thompson, Sr. of Knoxville, TN, three grandchildren Aaron Thompson of Knoxville, TN, Kirsti Dickey of Bowie, MD, Ashley Hughes of Lafollette, TN and two sisters Sharie Winegard (Freddie) of Nashville, GA and Jane Campbell of Conroe, TX. Family will receive friends Saturday, January 21, 2023 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at First United Methodist Church, 3402 Suwannee Street in Zolfo Springs, FL. Funeral service will follow at 11:00 am Saturday, January 21, 2023, at First United Methodist Church of Zolfo Springs.
