Donald C. Adams

Donald C. Adams, age 94, passed away Tuesday, November 19, 2013 at his residence in Bartow of natural causes. Born September 1, 1919 in Bartow, Mr. Adams was a lifelong resident of the area. He was a WWII veteran of the Army Air Corps. He was a graduate of Florida Southern College, and a lifelong member of the Bartow First United Methodist Church where he was a choir member for many years. He ran Ideal Dairy in Bartow for many years, later was employed as a chemist with U.S. Steel Phosphate. After retirement, he was a cattleman in the family business. He is preceded in death by his wife Frances & two sons; Bill & Tom Adams. Mr. Adams is survived by his grandson: Donald W. Adams & wife Jae; four great grandchildren: Brittany, Alison, Chelsi & Kayla, all of Bartow. Family will receive friends Thursday, November 21, 2013 from 6:00 - 8:00 PM at Whidden-McLean Funeral Home, Bartow. Funeral services will be held Friday 10:00 AM at Bartow First United Methodist Church, 310 S. Broadway, Ave.
