Dolores Jean Chalvatzis (née Knezeak) was born in Adena, Ohio on April 30th, 1939. Dolores had 3 siblings, Joann (deceased), Joseph (deceased) and Phillip. The family moved to Cleveland, Ohio and at the age of 20, while working at local diner, she met her beloved husband, Gregory. It was love at first sight, and after only 4 months, they were blissfully wed on July 30, 1959. Dolores was a devoted wife and mother who had 4 children. George (Joann), Christine (deceased), Deborah (Jeffrey) and Dolores (Jack-Deceased). Dolores and Gregory moved from Ohio to Fort Lauderdale, Florida in 1970. In 1996, they retired and moved to sunny Big Pine Key, Florida. In 2019, they relocated to Bartow, Florida. Dolores had 2 grandchildren, Paul and Gregory. Dolores and Gregory were married for 62 years. They traveled widely and visited many places in America, Mexico, Europe and especially Gregory’s native country, Greece. Their marriage was based on respect, loyalty, admiration and most importantly, love. Dolores loved the outdoors and always enjoyed being outside, in the pool, or relaxing on the porch. She enjoyed a wide variety of hobbies, including boating, camping, swimming, fishing, painting, sewing, cooking, baking and always winning at the casino. Dolores passed away on January 2nd, 2022 and her presence in her devoted family’s lives will be sorely missed.
