Dixie Veleria Ward

Haines City - Dixie Veleria Ward, age 94, passed away Wednesday, May 23, 2012 at Palm Garden of Winter Haven of natural causes. Born Thursday, August 2, 1917 in Bonifay, FL, Mrs. Ward was a resident of Lake Wales for 30 years, moving from Bonifay. She was a fruit sectionizer for the Citrus World & Florida's Natural Growers in Lake Wales for many years. She was preceded in death by her husband: John Ward. Mrs. Ward is survived by two sisters: Jewel Bowers of Samson, AL & Brunette Brannon of Dothan, AL; grandson: Gary & wife Anges Beagles of Lake Wales. Family will receive friends Friday, May 25, 2012 from 9:00 AM - 10:00 AM at Whidden-McLean Funeral Home, Bartow. Funeral services will follow at 10:00 AM the funeral home. Interment will be held at Homeland Cemetery, Homeland.
