Dewey Nettles

William "Dewey" Nettles, age 88, passed away with his family by his side Tuesday, November 15, 2011 at Bartow Regional Medical Center due to heart failure. Born January 11, 1923 in Brewster, FL, Mr. Nettles was a lifelong resident of the area. He was a welder & mechanic for Semco Construction for 34 years. He formerly worked with Gardinier Phosphate. He was an U.S. Army veteran. Mr. Nettles is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Mildred Nettles, Bartow; daughter: Gail Bretz & husband Fred of Bartow; son: Bill Nettles & wife Linda of Bartow; sister: Wanda L. Douglas of Plant City; three grandchildren: Jason Nettles & wife Rebecca; Caren Bodine & husband Mark; Eric Nettles & fiancee Lauren Bass; five great grandchildren: Brett, Dylan & Braydon Nettles; Jett & Ava Bodine and many nieces & nephews. Additional family members: Ray & Jay Young of Georgia. Family will receive friends Saturday, November 19, 2011, 9:30 to 11:00 AM at Whidden-McLean Funeral Home, Bartow. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 AM. Interment with Military Honors will follow at Wildwood Cemetery, Bartow. Memorials may be made to Disabled American Veterans P.O.
