Dewey Thomas Meacham, Sr., 78, of Bartow, FL, went to be with his Jesus Sunday, June 6, 2010, at his residence in Bartow, FL. Mr. Meacham was born August 27, 1931 in Baker, FL. He served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict . He was a Instrument Mechanic for Mobil Chemical for 41 years and was a member of The Church of God of Bartow. He is survived by the love of his life of 58 years Fay C. Meacham of Bartow. Two Daughters; Susan Acevedo of Orlando and Kayleigh Meacham of Bartow. Two Sons; Dewey T. Meacham, Jr. & wife Kim of Bartow and Robert O. Meacham & wife Cynthia of Fort Meade. Two Sisters; Dorothy L. Smith of Geneva, AL and Nellie J. Wetherington of Fort Meade. Two Brothers; Jerry L. Meacham of Dothan, AL and Ricky J. Meacham of Frostproof. Four Grandchildren and Two Great Grandchildren. Arrangements are being handled by Whidden-McLean Funeral Home, 650 East Main Street in, Bartow, FL, where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Wednesday, June 9, 2010. Funeral service will be at Bartow Church of God, 1460 East Stuart Street at 11:00 AM Thursday, June 10, 2010 , Rev. Elwood F. Kern officiating. Interment will be at Wildwood Cemetery in Bartow.
