Denver E. Long

Bartow -Denver E. Long, age 91, passed away on September 13, 2024, at Spring Lake Nursing Center in Winter Haven. He was born on April 30, 1933, in San Antonio, FL. He was a United States Army Veteran. He was a PBX Installer for GTE. He was a member of the Freemasonry. He enjoyed fishing, going to church and watching the Tampa Bay Rays. He was preceded in death by his wife Ruth Long and son Daniel Roper. He is survived by a loving family that includes his sons Gregory Long (Jackie) of Bartow, & Martin Long of Bartow, daughter in law Ginny Roper, sister Laura Belle Clark of Bartow, brother Clarence Long (Sue) of Winter Haven, 7 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild and many nieces & nephews. Family will receive friends Tuesday, September 17, 2024, from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM at Whidden-McLean Funeral Home, Bartow. Funeral service will be held Wednesday, September 18, 2024, at 10:00 AM at Christian Home Freewill Baptist Church. Interment will be held at Wildwood Cemetery, Bartow.
