Della V. Herrington

Mrs. Della Herrington, age 78, passed away from heart failure Sunday, March 22, 2009 at her home in Bartow. Born September 14, 1930 in Lakeland, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Elmo and Ethel Mae Duren. Mrs. Herrrington was a former member of Westside Baptist Church in Lakeland. She has been a very active member of Lake Garfield Baptist Church for the past 48 years, where she was a longtime Sunday School teacher and sang in the choir. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother Ray Duren, and sister Vivian Gamble. She is survived by a loving family that includes her husband, W.S. Herrington Jr. of Bartow, two sons; Steven M. Herrington (Marie) of Lehigh Acres, James R. Herrinton (Debra Sue) of Winter Haven, two daughters; Sandra Kay (Herrington) Draper (John) of Fort Meade, and Janet Holland (Timothy) of Apopka. She also leaves behind her grandchildren; Jimmy, Billy, Jeremy, Chris, Lori, Ryan, Jason, Shawn, Crystal, and eight great grandchildren. Family will receive friends Saturday, March 28th at Lake Garfield Baptist Church 1170 Eighty Foot Road in Bartow from 10-11am. Services will follow at 11:00 am at the church.
