Delila G. Mercer

Delila G. Mercer, 69 of Homeland, FL died on Friday, May 13, 2011, at Lakeland Regional Medical Center in Lakeland Born April 18, 1942 in Bartow, Mrs. Mercer was a resident of Homeland for over 26 years, moving from Auburndale. She was a Correction Officer for the Bartow Juvenile Correction Center for many years. She was formerly with Ben Hill Griffin Citrus as a sectionizer for several years, She is a member of Deliverence Center of Auburndale, and a former member of the Bartow Church of God where she was a Sunday school teacher for many years, She is preceded in death by her son: Gary Foust. She is survived by her husband Frank Mercer of Homeland; 3 sons: Roy Phillips II of Lake Wales; Daniel Mercer of Polk City & James Mercer of Fort Meade. 4 daughters: Renee Arlt of Lakeland; Selina Vanlanot & Deanna Spiller, both of Lake Wales, Becky Mosher of Lakeland. sister: Matha of Tampa; 20 grandchildren & 1 great grandchild. Family will receive friends Monday, May 16, 2011, 6-8 pm at Whidden-McLean Funeral Home, Bartow. Funeral services will be held Tuesday 10:00 am at the funeral home. Interment will be in Wildwood Cemetery, Bartow.
