David R. Smith

Mr. David R. Smith, age 55, died Sun. November 30, 2008 from heart failure in Lakeland. Born Dec. 28, 1952 in Beckley, West Virginia, he was the son of the late Tom and Ann Smith. David was a sales representative and finance manager in the auto industry for many years, most recently working for Martin Motors in Winter Haven. Mr. Smith is survived by a loving family that includes his wife of 19 years Linda Smith of Bartow, daughter Kimberly Singletary, granddaughter Ali Singletary both of Bartow, two sisters; Donna Shifflett of Montana, Bunny Carter of Virginia, and two brothers; John Smith of Arizona, and Ricky Smith of West Virginia. Arrangements are being handled by Whidden-McLean Funeral Home 650 East Main Street in Bartow where family will receive friends Thurs. Dec. 4th from 4 PM to 5 PM. Services for Mr. Smith will follow at 5:00 PM at the funeral home chapel.
