David Lamar Sammons

Mr. David L. Sammons, age 52, died Monday, February 15, 2010 at his residence in Bartow. Mr. Sammons was a lifelong resident of Bartow, born on September 5, 1957 and is a direct descendant of the Gandy family of Connersville. He worked as a technician for Sonny's Air Conditioning in Bartow. He was also a member of Lake Garfield Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his father Herman "Shorty" Sammons. He is survived by his mother Mae Sammons of Bartow, two sisters; Vicki Casselman of Bartow, Sueann Hamrick of Ty Ty, GA, his niece Michelle Harris of Bartow, three nephews; Travis White of Bartow, Jason White of Ty Ty, Jody Gill of Bartow, twelve great nieces and nephews, one great great niece and one great great nephew. Arrangements are being handled by Whidden-McLean Funeral Home in Bartow where the family will receive friends Wednesday, February 17th from 5pm to 7pm. Funeral services will follow Thursday, February 18th at 11:00am at Lake Garfield Baptist Church 1170 Eighty Foot Road in Bartow.
