He enjoyed golfing, yardwork, and fishing. He was preceded in death by his son Todd A. Mitchell. He is survived by his wife of 63 years Yvonne Mitchell of Bartow, son David C Mitchell, Jr. (Silvia) of Palm Beach Gardens and brother Richard Mitchell of Cortland, NY.
