David M. Ivey

David M. Ivey, age 79, passed away Wednesday, December 7, 2022. He was born December 19, 1942 in Fort Meade, FL to Francis & Lorene Ivey. David served in the U.S Army. After serving his Country he graduated from USF with a degree in education. He started his coaching career at Lewis Anna Woodbury Elementary in Fort Meade. He would go on to Coach Football, Basketball and Track at Fort Meade High School. Coach Ivey was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Darlyn Johnson, Lucille Stockton and great granddaughter Karleigh Kirk. He is survived by his daughter Lynn Shiver, sister Thelma Chambers (Wayne), brother Bill Ivey (Ann) and sister Marti Germany Ivey, five grandchildren Brian Kirk (Amber), Emily Shiver, Shelby Shiver (Courtney), Christa Shiver (Scott), Madison Shiver and five great grandchildren, Kennedy Kirk, McKinley Kirk, Paxton Shiver, Waylon Turner and Karter Kirk. Family will receive friends Monday, December 12, 2022 from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM at McLean Funeral Home in Fort Meade, FL. Memorial service will follow at 5:00 pm Monday, December 12, 2022, at McLean Funeral Home.
