David Hollis Brewer

David H. Brewer, age 80, passed away on February 2, 2023, in Bartow. Born March 2, 1942, in Saint Petersburg, FL, he was the son of the late Hollis and Helena Brewer. Mr. Brewer moved to Bartow in 1944 and was a graduate of Summerlin Institute, class of 1960. He worked for many years as a Real Estate Broker and proudly represented the Bartow Board of Realtors at both the state and national levels. Mr. Brewer had a love for history and was actively involved with the Polk County Historical Association for many years, serving as President from 2010 to 2022. His love of storytelling was an amazing gift that he took tremendous joy in sharing with anyone who would listen. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his siblings; Donald Brewer and Betty Brewer Denton. He is survived by his wife, Susan Brewer of Bartow, his children: Karen (Brewer) Price and her husband Kris Price of Bartow, Daniel Brewer of Spartanburg, SC, Jonathan Brewer and his wife Laura (Miller) Brewer of Clearwater, his grandchildren: Brent Hagood, Olivia Hagood, Eleanor Brewer, Lucy Brewer and his brother, Woodie Brewer. Family will hold an informal visitation to celebrate Mr. Brewer's life in the hopes to share stories with family and friends on Saturday, March 4, 2023 from 1:00 - 3:00 PM at 1620 Wallace Ave, Bartow.
