David J. Gardner, Sr.

David J. Gardner, Sr., age 75, passed away Tuesday, January 10, 2023 at Lakeland Regional Medical Center. He was born January 4, 1948 in Flint, MI to Walter & Betty Gardner. David served in the US Navy from 1967 to 1970 and served in the Vietnam War. He retired from General Motors in Flint, Michigan after 30 years. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Fort Meade and a member Fort Meade Masonic Lodge. David was always willing to help others and very active in the community, especially with his Church and Hammock Lake Estates. David loved spending time with his family and friends. In his spare time he enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing and playing pool. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife of 41 years Nancy Gardner. David is survived by his children Stephanie Miller & husband William of Fort Meade, Jonathan Gardner & wife Delma of Tulsa, OK, Crystal Larsen & husband Scott, David Gardner, Jr. & wife Sally and Tillie Gardner all of Mount Morris, MI. Sisters Barb Roznowski & husband Gary, Nancy Dunlap, Darlene Gardner, step sister Marcia Wheeler, step brothers Marc Wheeler and Eric Wheeler, step mother Joy Gardner, 15 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and special friend Erma Lehr. Family will receive friends 11:00 am to 12:00 pm Wednesday, January 18, 2023 at McLean Funeral Home.
