Daniel DeVito, age 95, passed away January 28, 2022 at the Good Shepard Hospice House in Lakeland. Born August 14, 1926 in Bridgeport, Connecticut. He was the son of the late Peter DeVito and Giovannina Lucia DeVito. Daniel started his career as a staff photographer at the Bridgeport Herald Newspaper at the age of 17 and worked there until he enlisted in the Army. He served in the Army Photographic Corp. at Fort Riley, Kansas where he met his first wife Jeanette. After being discharged they returned to Bridgeport to start a family. He found employment at Sikorsky Aircraft where he started as a staff photographer and earned several awards for his corporate films. He was eventually made manager of Sikorsky’s photo lab and worked his way up in the corporation to lead in the Public Relations and Marketing Departments. Daniel was very active in his church, Mary Taylor United Methodist Church in Milford, Connecticut and was a frequent volunteer at Milford Hospital and the Bethel Homeless Shelter and Soup Kitchen in Milford, Connecticut. Along with his parents he is preceded in death by his first wife Jeanette, his son Brian DeVito, his son in law Jack Connor, and 4 siblings Marie DeVito, Margaret Plichta, Grace Salaris, and Anthony DeVito. He is survived by his daughter Michelle Connor of Bartow, Florida, a brother Gene DeVito of Land o Lakes, Florida, a grandson James Connor of Milford, Connecticut, granddaughters Jennifer Magdon and her husband Joseph of Milford, Connecticut, Danielle Brocar, and her husband William of Milford, Connecticut, and Rebecca DeVito of Maryland and three great grandchildren Ashley Magdon of Meriden, Connecticut, Brayden Biggers of Maryland and Gracelyn Brocar of Milford, Connecticut. A service of Christian Burial will take place at a later date in Connecticut.
