Dale Barker

Dale Barker (76) of Wahneta, FL, passed away July 31, 2023, at Winter Haven Hospital. Dale was a longtime resident of Wahneta, where he lived with his wife Deborah. Dale enjoyed driving trucks and drove for over 45 years. He owned his own company “Barker Trucking” for 25 years until his retirement in 2019. During his retirement he loved to spend time with his grandchildren & great grandchildren and to aggravate anyone. Dale was preceded in death by his parents Benjamin Barker and Ellen Roy, his in-laws Carl and Macon Hanson, and his beloved dog of 14 years Scuffy. He is survived by his wife of 56 years Deborah (Hanson) Barker of Wahneta, his children Ricky (Linda) Barker of Lake Wales, Angela (Robert) Jackson of Henderson, NC and Gary (Leona) Barker of Wahneta, 16 grandchildren & 20 great grandchildren. The family will receive friends Saturday, August 5, 2023, from 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM at Whidden-McLean Funeral Home, Bartow. A funeral service will be held Saturday, August 5, 2023, at 11:00 AM at Whidden-McLean Funeral Home. Interment will be held at Church of Christ Cemetery, Eagle Lake.
