Cynthia Martin Mckinnish

Cynthia Martin McKinnish, 57, went home to be with Jesus Monday, September 23, 2013 as a result f of respiratory failure. She was a loving wife, mother and friend. She enjoyed reading, traveling, visiting the be beach and walking her dogs. Born September 8, 1956 in Sylvester, GA, Mrs. McKinnish was a resident of Fort Meade for 22 years, moving from Bartow. She was a graduate of Bartow High School, class of 1974 and of Warner University with honors, class of 1994. She was a Counselor for the Department of Children & Families for 13 years. She was a Legal Secretary for several attorneys in the local area for many years. She was a member of the Bartow First Baptist Church, serving as Sunday school teacher for High School & Kindergarten classes. She also volunteered for the Senior Orphans and belonged to the Sonshiners prayer group. Mrs. McKinnish is survived by her husband; Dr. James R. McKinnish of Fort Meade; daughter: Jayme "DeeDee" McKinnish, Fort Meade; 2 step sons: Todd R McKinnish & Ricky McKinnish (Nikki); 2 step daughters: Nikki Alderman & Merry Hostetler (Harry) all of Fort Meade; parents: Edgar & Wilma Martin, Bartow; brother; Eddie Martin (Lauri), Bartow & sister: Kathy Nooe, Fort Meade; , 3 grandchildren; 7 nieces; 3 nephews; 5 great nieces & 3 great nephews. Heavens is receiving a great asset. Family will receive friends Thursday, September 26, 2013 from 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM at the First Baptist Church of Bartow, 410 E. Church Street, Bartow. Funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM at the Church.
