Curtis Francis Schley

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Curtis Francis Schley, age 60, of Bartow, FL on January 4, 2025. Curt was a beloved parent, grandparent, sibling, uncle and friend who lived a life full of love and laughter. Born on February 11, 1964, in Erie, PA, Curt was the son of John Gerard Schley and Marie Reszkowski. Curt had a passion and worked his whole life in the phosphate business doing welding and pipefitting. Throughout his life, Curt was known for his big heart, sense of humor and ability to get along with anyone, leaving an indelible mark on everyone fortunate enough to know him. Curt was preceded in death by his parents and sisters Sandy Chizewick and Deb Vanucci. Curt is survived by his two sons, Jared Schley – Wife Brooke and Joey Schley – Wife Brittany – Granddaughter Blake. Two brothers Gary and Scott Schley and four sisters Sharon Alvarez, Judy Rives, Hiedi Macrino and Amy Brenneman. As well as his beloved nephews and nieces and great nephews and great nieces that brought great joy to his life. Curt enjoyed being at the ball field coaching baseball on the weekends when his kids were young and many of his kid’s friends knew him as coach Curt. Others knew him as the spot to come watch the famous Bartow parades: Halloween and Christmas. Curt and his girlfriend Cheryl Burke just enjoyed having people around and at his house to hangout.
