Curtis Lamar Grubbs

Curtis Lamar Grubbs, age 84, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Monday, February 6, 2023. He was born December 5, 1938 in Blakely, GA. He was the son of C.L. Grubbs, Sr. and Christine Weaver Grubbs and step-mother Clara Grubbs. Lamar graduated from Bartow Summerlin Institute, Class of 1956. He served four years in the United States Navy and was a retired Letter Carrier for the U.S. Postal Service. He was a faithful member of Heartland Church in Winter Haven. He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter Julie Grubbs, a step-sister JoAnn Hamric, and a step-brother Jim Knight. Lamar is survived by his wife of 65 years Marlene Grubbs, daughter Sherrie Pinion & husband Brent, son Gary Grubbs & wife Stacey, one sister Etta Shattler & husband Don, two brothers Clarence Grubbs, Jr. & wife Candy, George Grubbs & wife Rosemary, four grandchildren Ashley Melton & husband Derreck, Cassie Pinion, James Grubbs and Jenna Grubbs, and two great-grandchildren Ellis Grubbs & Lucy Grubbs. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to mission efforts at Heartland Church – 225 Avenue B, NW in Winter Haven, FL 33881.
