Connie Sue Stith

Connie Sue Stith 63 of Lake Alfred passed away March 6, 2010 at Winter Haven Hospital from respiratory failure. A native of Welch, West Virginia Connie moved to the area in 1985 from Steator, Illinois where she worked as a Seamstress for the Sealy Matress Co. for 12 years. Connie continued to work for the Sealy Matress Co. locally in Lake Wales and Orlando with 25 more years of service. Married to Rev. James L. Stith of the Community Christian Church in Bartow she was a Bible School Teacher; Leader of the Youth Program and a Song Leader at the church. She was preceded in death by her father Lewis Clarkson. Connie is survived by husband of 43 years Rev. James L. Stith of Lake Alfred; mother Lucy Clarkson of Mt. Wolfe, PA; two sisters Sandy Bogus (Jim) of Mt. Wolfe, PA and Sharon Westman (Bob) of Hot Springs, AR; two brothers Louis "Buzz" Clarkson (Barb) of Streator, IL and Bill Clarkson (Brigitte) of Madison, AL; nephew Donald L. Stith of Lake Wales and numerous other nieces and nephews. A visitation will be held Tuesday from 5-8pm at Whidden-McLean Funeral Home in Bartow with services following on Wednesday at 3pm at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Wildwood Cemetery.
