Connie S. Sheffield

Connie S. Sheffield, age 89, passed away Saturday, May 2, 2015 at Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa. Born October 9, 1925 in Tampa, she was the daughter of the late Grady Arthur Smith, Sr. and Mamie Townsend Smith. Mrs. Sheffield worked for many years in the public school system as a home economics teacher. She was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church of Bartow. Connie is also preceded in death by her husband Roy H. Sheffield in 2005. She is survived by her three sons: Mark Sheffield (Belle) of Debary, Steve Sheffield (Sandy) of Plant City, and John Sheffield of Bartow. Connie also leave behind her brother Grady Arthur Smith Jr., and three grandchildren: Bailey Morris (Jeff), Justin Micah Sheffield, and William James Sheffield. The family will receive friends Wednesday, May 6th from 10am to 11am at Whidden-McLean Funeral Home in Bartow. Funeral services will follow at 11:00am at the funeral home chapel. Interment will take place in Townsend Cemetery in Hawthorne. Memorial contributions may be made to the Food Pantry at the First Baptist Church, 410 E. Church St. in Bartow,
