Claud “Jack” Letanosky, 88, of Lakeland FL passed away peacefully at Good Shepherd Hospice on June 20, 2022. Claud was born in Birmingham, AL and moved to Lynch, Kentucky at 6 months of age. He graduated from Lynch High School where he loved playing for the Bulldogs football team. In 1965 he left the coal mines of the Kentucky mountains and moved his family to Florida. He retired from Mosaic in 1988. Claud’s first love was his family followed by the love of traveling and cruising with many visits to Alaska, his favorite. Claud is survived by his loving family including wife of 67 years, Melvina Letanosky and daughter Dianne Hampton. Grandchildren Heather Silver (Mike), Elise Letanosky, Michael Letanosky (Samantha) and David Letanosky. Great grandchildren Gavin and Gracie Silver. Sisters Betty Carroll and Francis Burton along with many nieces, nephews and cousins. Claud was preceded in death by son Claud Letanosky, granddaughter Amy Letanosky and siblings Margaret Hoiska, Ethel Balchin, Helen Begley, Adam Hoiska Jr., Paul Hoiska and Mildred Warf. Whidden-McLean Funeral home is handling arrangements with eternal place of interment at the Wildwood Cemetery in Bartow, FL. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Claud’s name to the Good Shepherd Hospice in Lakeland FL.
