Charlie N. Swain Sr.

Charlie N. Swain Sr. 87 of Bartow passed away Monday, August 22, 2011 at his residence. Born in Kern, TX he moved to Bartow from Belle Chase, LA in 2004. He retired from Getty Oil Company in Venice, LA as a Oil Field Engineer. He was a nine year Navy Veteran of WWII and a Pearl Harbor survivor. Also President of The Pearl Harbor Survivors Association of the state of LA for twenty five years. He was a member of the Dundee Church of Christ and a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He was preceded in death by his wife of forty five years Grace Ponton Swain and his parents Sylvester and Edna Swain. He is survived by his wife Lucy N. Robbins of Auburndale. Two sons Charlie Swain Jr. of Forney, TX; Robert Swain of New Orleans, LA. Two daughters Anita Swain of Bartow and Toni Harris of Ballan Victoria, Australia. Ten grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. A visitation will be held on Saturday, August 27th from 10-11am at McLean Funeral Home in Fort Meade with services starting at 11am.
